My brother likes arguing with atheists, but I tend to get quiet and feel like a shit instead of defending myself, and then later (alone) be like "wtf, it's not my fault some Christians are asshats."
Yeahh. I tried to defend myself, and then I just got tired of it because they were so obviously not going to defend themselves. And I mentioned that my sister goes to church even though she's not Christian, for the social aspect, and everyone was all HYPOCRITE I BET SHE JUST WANTS TO MEET BOYS and I was all *facepalm* and just stopped.
There are many uses for religion and the need for meaning is one of them, but it's certainly not for weak people. You could make the case that not caring much whether there's a meaning or not, as in my case, is much weaker than deriving a meaning from something which isn't directly evident from the universe without texts and histories explaining it. Tell them to leave you alone!
breakfast is good. I'm probably skipping dinner because I'm not hungry yet and the hall's almost closing.
I am bored with arguing and will probably just sulk about it. There tends to be a point when you realise you aren't going to change anyone's mind and you try not to think about the fact that you have three more months of dicussion groups with them.
