So... I've been getting automated phonecalls for the past 2 days from the City of NY, asking for us (teachers) to volunteer at our local evacuation shelters for the upcoming Hurricane Irene. I was wanting to stay home and just hang out with my kitties.

It seems like they're just considering Irene a category 1 now. We actually went to the Ren Faire this morning, got in a few hours before the rains started. :) But they gave us some free tickets for the rest of the season. Have 6 of them. XD So if you want to join us some weekend before the end of Sept...
