everything is art

I like the art references here, and the formatting made me read slower, which let me savor the phrasing. For some reason, the images remind me of Jean-Leon Gerome's Pygmalion & Galatea (the version at the Metropolitan). One minor note: 'exhalation' and 'inhalation' instead of 'exhale' and 'inhale' which are verbs, not nouns.

Thank you for this lovely comment! I looked up the painting and oh, it's gorgeous. Do you study art? (Or live by the Met? A yes to any of the two questions will cause me great envy. ;)) And thank you for the 'exhalation'/'inhalation' tip - though I think I like the sound of just 'exhale' and 'inhale' better. I have a terrible habit of ignoring grammar when it suits me, haha.

Oh, and were you able to access the locked posts alright? I'm sorry for the sudden locking, but there's someone much younger than me who knows about this blog and I became a bit paranoid.

I could see the locked posts fine now, thanks :-)

I was an Art History major and did live in NY for a semester (first thing I did when I got to the city was a trip to the Met!) Since you live in Vancouver, have you been to the UBC Museum of Anthropology? Or the Bata Shoes museum in Toronto -- that was an awesome place!

Oh, that's a relief. :')

Oh man, that's awesome. I've always wanted to live in New York, if only so I can check out all the museums and art galleries every day of the week. The Met! I am very envious. I have been to the UBC Museum of Anthropology! A couple times now, really. I love it - there's always the sense of a calm sorrow, standing between totem poles being so carefully preserved under concrete and glass. The Bata Shoes museum I wanted to check out when I visited Toronto a while ago, but didn't get a chance. When did you come to Vancouver? And where do you live now, if you don't mind my asking?
