Still studying for test. Busy day.

Saved someone's life today. Had a man come through the outpatient lab. He had a troponin drawn. I ran the test as a stat as the patient was waiting for the results. (Troponin is a protein indicator of heart muscle damage.) The tests came back super nutso (a 1.75 with the high end of the range being .3ish). I ( Read more... )

Yes, he was. I found out today that he had a pulmonary embolism. His troponin was coming down as of this morning. He is in the hospital.
