Nice! I've seen ghost NYC and PC lettering on some cars. Those cars are nearly always stainless--the 'trick' doesn't seem to work on painted cars.

Yeah, with painted cars the metal is protected evenly, so even if a painted stainless car gets stripped later, there usually isn't much to look at for signs of previous ownership. And if it isn't stainless... it'd better get painted again pretty quick. o.o

You know, I should dig around and see if I got a picture of the NYC lettering on that diner. I don't think I did, but... hmm...
