[fic] LOST. Jacob/Esau.

Aug 17, 2009 02:45

For slashthedrabble . I'm trying to write more fanfic these days. Also first Lostfic so don't be hatin'. Note: I am calling The Man in Black/Dark Shirt/Jacob's Nemesis by his fan name of Esau until his true name is revealed.

Title: Opposites (the originality!)
Rating: PG / bordering on PG-13
Fandom: LOST
Pairing: Jacob/Esau
Summary: Esau will always give into Jacob, time and time again, no matter how much he despises him. WC: 500.
Prompt: #218: Opposites

Jacob has a way of drawing people to him: Esau will admit that much. He hates Jacob with all his heart, but when the other man speaks, he’ll listen, when Jacob gestures, Esau will follow every movement with his ash-grey eyes. Sometimes Jacob’s solemn gaze will meet his own and a charge will flash between them, quick as summer lightening. They repel each other, although sometimes that negative force swings the other way.

Esau grimaces at this weakness, rubbing his shoulder where Jacob had bit down hard. Last night--all the nights--were difficult. The jungle was too hot, the air too close, it did things to his head...

“That bastard...” he murmurs aloud.

“Me?” Jacob appears with a swish of sand. As always, his very presence seems to twang the air. Esau stifles his surprise and sets his teeth as the fair-haired man eases down next to him.

“Yes, you. Always you. Go away.”

“Mango?” The fruit is swiped under Esau’s nose. Jacob’s seawater eyes sparkle like sun off the waves. That’s another thing that he dislikes: Jacob’s sometimes childish good-humor. It was something he caught off the humans he occasionally lured to the island. Esau is disgusted.

He takes the fruit, but only because Jacob will pester him calmly and thoughtfully until he gives in. The mango flesh is sweet to sink into. Another hazy memory surfaces in his mind: didn’t Jacob taste just as sweet, just as enticing? The fruit promptly turns to dust on his tongue.

“You’re very quiet,” Jacob says softly. Esau turns his head. “I thought you would lecture me about duty, or list all the ways you wish you could turn my bones into molten rock.” He watches Esau watch his lips as he speaks, watches a dribble of mango juice run down the other’s chin.

The dark man smiles, cold as flint. “Maybe another time.” He bites savagely into the mango while staring directly into Jacob’s eyes. His thought is sharp like an arrow and Jacob plucks it easily from his head:

One day I will tear you into ribbons.

Jacob smiles back. He takes Esau’s chin and drags him gently forward, knowing the other can’t resist. In a heartbeat his tongue is rasping across the dark man’s chin. Esau shudders even as he growls warningly. Jacob’s grip is iron, shackling him. His tongue unlocking him, gaining entrance to his mouth. He’s pushed firmly down onto the white sand, and why, why did it always have to end like this?

“This isn’t forever,” he whispers, “You won’t always get your way.”

“It’s enough.” Those words are breathed into his neck. “For now...enough.”

Esau’s thoughts slide into incoherency as sky and sea meld together into a blinding metal grey. Everything stills. Sometimes he’s unsure which mind or body is his exactly, they fit so perfectly into one another. Eventually time will bleed back, he knows, and he’ll find himself flushed and sand-sticky, ashamed, his hatred kindling once more.
