Regarding the bozocity of air travel... I really, really think we need to have a word with the people who incinerate their legs, and those with the explosive knee-jerk responses to them.
Well, the behavior of suicidal extremists and the folks supposedly responsible for preventing them brings its own brand of misery. But as far as real bozo-headedness goes, I'm talking about things like overbooking every flight, charging an arm and a leg for every possible extra they can think of (checked baggage, the use of pillows and blankets, dry and salty snacks, water...), using the shoddiest, lowest-bidder vendor for plane maintenance, overshooting destinations, trapping people for hours on end inside the plane as it sits on the runway...
Except for the overbooking and the extra charges, the others probably happen pretty infrequently. You certainly hear about them when they do happen, though.
