"The Jews have come from the tragedy [of the Holocaust], and forced the world to respect them, with their knowledge, not with their terror, with their work, not their crying and yelling. Humanity owes most of the discoveries and science of the 19th and 20th centuries to Jewish scientists. 15 million people, scattered throughout the world, united ( Read more... )

Although I respect the overall idea of this statement, I disagree with the absolutisms that a Jew or Budhist has never performed an act of terrorism or violence on a muslim or whatever other religion. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about this statement carrying more weight because it's from an Arab. That seems kind of silly and unimportant in a color blind world.

I don't think it carries more weight coming from an Arab. It does put into words something that has pained me for a long time about the behavior of the Muslim people as a whole. We can't judge all Muslims based on this behavior, of course, but I respect the statement because it is something that more people should be talking about. If more Muslims had the mindset that they needed to represent themselves positively to the world, things could be a lot better for them.

Also I like tooting the Jewish horn.

But the issue is that most Arabs don't keep their entire nation down by embezzling national funds and supporting terrorists. Iran itself is reforming though, a huge portion of the population is school aged youth, between mine and your age, and they're growing up and going to school. However, the people who are deciding that the Holocaust never happened are old fogies ( ... )

No I definitely agree with Zach and his remarks about the corruption in the Fatah movement and how Hamas is the only party who is providing any sort of welfare. Furthermore, the fact that Hamas is now an offical party, it has to play offical politcs. If it doesn't, and supports more terrorist attacks, it just makes Israel look better internationally. However, it should be noted that Israel should not be overly concerned with International opinion, although it does help. Lastly, Israel shouldn't hope for a Hamas attack just so they can say "we told you so".
