Summary: Written in response to one of the Closer headcanons on tumblr, which can be found here. Brenda and Fritz reach an agreement regarding Brenda's relationship with Sharon, but nothing is ever as easy as it seems. This fic was kind of a bitch to write, for some reason

I love this! You always write Sharon and Brenda and their thought processes so well, but I particularly love the way you ended the chapter with Fritz. I can actually imagine all of this happening (and I love that head canon too!), and have contemplated writing something similar. The decision to share Brenda if his choices are that or to lose her seems very accurate to me, given the dynamic of their relationship that we see onscreen.

Please don't make us wait too long for more!

ahhh thank you so much!! sometimes it's hard to write the characters the way they actually are instead of the way i want them to be in my head, and it means a lot to me that you think they're turning out right in this fic. i think a lot of the time in brenda/sharon fic fritz is either suffering quietly in the background or throwing fits until he disappears, but that's not really how i think he would actually behave in this situation. (ok, i'm not 100% sure that made sense. running low on sleep right now) anyway, i'm glad you liked it!

oh WOW - this was amazing. I'm all sorts of excited about this because I submitted that head!canon, and I'm SOOO glad someone decided to write about it! I think you really captured the characters beautifully. It's so tragic and yet there's a pull there that none of them can really ignore. I hope you'll write more!

He actually laughed out loud at the prospect. No, if he had even broached the subject with her she probably would have left him. She didn't share well, and she didn't like coming in second place. There would have been tears, screaming; she probably would have hit him, actually, but Brenda would rather leave him than let him fuck someone else.

And Fritz would rather let Brenda fuck someone else than leave her.

These two paragraphs were all kinds of perfection. I love the way you ended this. Everyone was perfectly characterized, this was amazing! Yay for head!canons :)
