Borrowed from everyone - it's International Recommend-A-Movie Day. This means everyone should go to their LJ right now and tell their friends to watch a really good movie which most of them probably have not seen. And then tell more people to do it. Hopefully, we'll all have lots and lots of recommendations by the end of the day ( Read more... )

I love that movie, it's just so... quotable. I was in high school when "Big Trouble in Little China" came out, and went to see it nine times in the theatre (two of those times, my friends and I were the only ones there). And yes, I own it on both laserdisc and DVD... I wouldn't put it in my top ten favorites, but I think it would make the top twenty or so.

Besides which, it's all the reflexes.

You're the second person who's mentioned The Impostors to me in the past couple of months -- I'll have to check it out.

I think you'd like it. It's not perfect, but it's...quirky.

I know what I think happened, but I really want to see the director's cut now, since I hear it has a significantly different ending.

Heh, Donnie Darko.

That movie just gets weirder every time I watch it. And I'm still not sure what I think happened. I keep showing it to my friends just to get their opinions.

Yeah--I really liked it, Kathy liked it, our friend Maggie not so much, I think. It's kind of a Rorschach blot of a movie...

I filed it under "interesting, but flawed." I would like to see the director's cut, though.

Donnie Darko, one of my favorite movies, ever.

And you're right, you can't go wrong with Kurt Russell. He's just so darn likable. I'll have to check out the other film - I really like Stanley Tucci as well.

The Impostors is one of those films you should see with an actor. It cracks them up. *g*
