Doctor Who Finale

No spoilers, but I liked it a lot -- much better than the last few finales have been. The plot mostly held together! Moffat's long arcs tend to collapse under the weight of their own convolutions, but this one was pretty straightforward, and as such worked much better. Gomez was entertainingly rather than annoyingly bananas, and I wouldn't mind

I have to say, though, the Cybermen should have known Clara wasn't the Doctor. She only has one heart, and they should have known Gallifreyans have two.

I assume they didn't bother to scan for that because they didn't believe her and were gonna kill her anyway if Danny hadn't interfered.

I didn't like the cameo. I thought it spoiled the mood. But I appreciate that without it the end might have been too downbeat for a lot of people.

Otherwise, I agree with you. Good finale, and I hope Michelle Gomez will be back. Loved the Mary Poppins-like descent from the sky.

I think we're talking about different cameos -- I wasn't thinking of that very last scene, but the one in the graveyard. (Though I'm assuming that with that last scene, there's a catch to it.)

I really loved it, although my god it was brutal in places. (Osgood!) And I just want poor Twelve to get some love and care... er, that doesn't involve said carer making him an army.

It really was, but it felt like earned brutality, unlike some past episodes where the sad stuff has been very shoot-the-puppy, and I've ended up rolling my eyes rather than sniffling.
