You know how there are these slavefic AUs where everyone is a slave or a master (or in the less extreme versions, a dom or a sub) whether they like it or not? I Love Lucy is kind of creepily like that. Lucy resorts to wacky schemes because she has absolutely no real power in the relationship.

Eh, not nearly as creepy as Bewitched, where her husband demands that she change who she is and the whole plot revolves around her pretending to be a modern housewife and do things that women are supposed to do.
