Star Trek (spoilers behind cut)

My very first encounter with Star Trek was around 1970, when I was in third grade. The playground at our school had these big white chalk circles marked out, for dodge ball or something, and some of the kids at recess would pretend that these were the bridge of the Enterprise. OH I loved the Blish series of novelizations of the episodes! Had them all at one time (likely in the garage, hopefully not eaten by mice over the years).

I am old enough that I watched the original when it was new and shiny LOL. A die hard Trekkie (even wen to a lecture by Roddenberry BEFORE con's existed!!). Loved original and New Generation but only a bit of the other versions. REALLY looking forward to this film. Nothing but squee from everyone so far and that bodes well.

IT WAS SO GODDAMN AWESOME OMG. 15 minutes in, I had a blindingly vomitous migraine from sitting too close to the eebil imax screen, and I still enjoyed every damn second of it.
