Archaeological Terminology Serious Reenactors Should Know

In talking about particular finds with another re-enactor, recently, I had a Professor Moment. I had to explain some of the terminology I was using in reference to said artefacts, and it would seem that I've been working with some of these terms long enough that I'm quite surprised when other serious scholars of history don't know them (just like ( Read more... )

Precise dating is so difficult, and I think a lot of re-enactors don't understand that. You say "This object is most likely from the 10th century" an they want to know if it's 902 or 913, heh. ;) But the advances in archeology really are fascinating! I love reading about them as a total layman and armchair researcher :)
