I've never cooked with pumpkin before because it scares me (don't laugh!) bit I have managed to get the hang of butternut squashes (again, don't laugh ;p) Thing is, how do cook pumpkin? Do you do it the same as squash?

I wanna make pumpkin pie :)

They way I've stewed pumpkin is to cut it into couple-centimetre cubes, rind and all. Then I cover it with water and a dusting of sugar, and boil it until it's all tender. I purée it in a blender until it's relatively smooth with dark-orange flecks. If you purée it while it's still hot, you'll get it smoother than you would had you let it cool.

Alternately, you can get Libby's stewed pumpkin in tins in certain stores. I used this before I decided to get all complicated and do it all from scratch, but I've only seen it at one store in Dublin.
