Extra marks for exam day 'stress'

There has been a sharp rise in the number of pupils being given extra marks due to "special considerations" on the day of their GCSEs or A-levels.

Figures from England's exams watchdog show 329,119 requests were approved in 2008, compared to 255,200 in 2005.

Clearly I should have gotten extra points on my AP English test in high school when the lawn-mowers decided to crash into the building multiple times while mowing and the proctor started yelling into her walkie-talkie to get them to stop, thus adding to the noise.

Yep. I was stressed at exam time. Everyone was. There were distractions. And no one got extra marks. (I sound like an old person saying 'in my day, it was harder' but every year they just seem to make things easier. It doesn't improve grades and education, just lowers standards.)

Yeah, I don't get getting points for other people being sick. What, if they're sniffling or coughing I can say I was distracted, or something?

Honestly, if one can ONLY know information when there are PERFECT conditions...maybe you don't know the material, and maybe you *shouldn't* pass, yanno?
