A) I understand being English only... granted the language should be taught to whomever is coming in, but for ceremonies, they should be allowed to use English + whatever phrases from their culture that are appropriate

B) umm the kid may not have realized the message he was sending, because he's autistic, and just because you'd portray your teacher that way, doesn't mean you'd actually hurt them

C) WTH? A dog's got to do what a dog's gotta do... but it's not like he left a turd in the lawn ( not that that would justify the response, just that I could understand being *pissed off*)

D) Wha? how the hell is a false report better?

B) Seriously, even if he wasn't autsitic? God knows how many kids draw stick figures of teachers/parents/siblings. It's a good way to get less mad.

Hell, one of my old therapists suggested drawing pictures of bad things, then ripping them up as a way to get through anger.

but it's not like he left a turd in the lawn

Urine turns grass yellow.

Not that this justifies the response. At all. And what with all the chemicals they use and the fact that people could be using them for food gardens or laundry drying instead, the perfect American lawn is a concept that needs to go the way of X-rays for fun at the five'n'dime.

that last one reminds me of one that happened way back in the late '80's/early '90's in champaign-urbana, il. a uiuc student nan subbiah(sp? on the last name) faked her own kidnapping because she was stressed and there might have been something about an arranged marriage, i can't quite remember.

anyway, it was this big ordeal, she was gone for what seemed like quite a long time, made these phone calls to her parents about ransom, iirc, and then it was all fake. she had to leave the school and it was this huge disaster for her and her family. it really upset a ton of people, because local businesses gave money to funds for rewards to help find her and there were search parties and the fbi got involved. i think she got jail time and huge fines and all sorts of other things. i know for a while there was a where is she now thing in the local papers.

You know, if it were easy to learn any new language as an adult (let alone an irregular language like English), probably a good chunk of the currently non-English-speaking immigrants already would have done it.

exactly.
We take years of language classes in HS and most people in the states still don't speak a second language even close to fluently. How do they expect other people to learn english? Magic?

1) "English Only" rules REALLY piss me off because those rules were applied to Louisiana during the first half of the 20th century, and as a result, Cajuns almost lost a vital part of their heritage. Thankfully it's starting to come back now, but still. I would hate to see that happen to anyone else.

2)...really? If they were THAT worried, wouldn't a psychiatrist be more helpful? Ugh. *rolls eyes*

3) HOLY CRAP IT IS JUST GRASS. YOU KILLED A MAN WITH CHILDREN BECAUSE OF GRASS. DAMN IT!

4)I hate to disappoint my parents too but good LORD I would never pull that on them. Their being angry at me is a world times better than making them sick with worry.

I can understand being upset if some one let their dog relieve themselves on your lawn....but that's absolutely NO FUCKING REASON TO KILL THEM, that 'person' needs to be thrown under the jail into a dark room and forced to stare at pictures of his victim for the rest of his live... D:<

After they make him watch people tear up, burn, and generally disturb and destroy his precious lawn.
