Teacher of the year (Child abuse warning)

A 5-year-old boy complained to his parents about his kindergarten teacher being "mean" to him. They weren't sure what he meant, but after months of receiving these complaints constantly, the boy's stepdad finally decides to send him to school with a concealed recorder so he can record what the teacher is supposedly saying to him.

I'm having a hard time comprehending the "little asshole" comments. How in the name of Nick Fury's eye-patch of doom is a five-year-old wittering on non-stop being "a little asshole"? It's what five-year-olds DO! They talk non-stop! They find it difficult to be quiet and sit still! BECAUSE THEY'RE FIVE YEARS OLD.

She's on PAID administrative leave. She's basically getting a free vacation for abusing and humiliating this poor boy (who admittedly may need some educational help to get him engaged in the class, instead of acting out, but all the same, just wrong).

As someone who was bullied from elementary school through high school, this surprises me not at all.

In first grad I had a teacher make me stand in front of the class just so they could point and laugh at me, and nothing was done to her at all(she still left at the end of the year but still :(

I'm so sorry that happened to you. That's horrible.

In second grade, I had a teacher who made the kid with learning disabilities and a hyperactivity problem (ADHD? IDK if that was a diagnosis when I was a kid) stand up in front of the class to take "your medicine that will calm you down so you're not so hyper" (Ritalin, I guess? Not sure how long that's been around).

I'm sure you can imagine how that encouraged the bullies.

Reading the comments some of which are vile, I wonder how many of those people will go on to have children of their own or already do have children. And they say childfree folks hate kids, I'm stunned by how many people and even parents think this kind of shit is acceptable. Berating children is not acceptable.

I can understand teaching a child that other people do not like it when he does X, but that wasn't what she was doing, she was using peer pressure and bullying.
