I don't want to be fitted for a tinfoil hat, but my cynicism leads me to dread which lobbyists and special interest groups are manipulating the politicians this time around -- and that's on top of the usual misogyny, racism and classism that's probably a part of it. :-/

OMG, I just heard about this a few hours ago! I got back into town today and my dad was filling me in on what all had happened while I've been at college. He was ranting and raving up a storm about this bullshit; I haven't seen him this angry about something the city's done in a long time.

What's even worse is, we've already had one instance of a man who got released, went home to beat up his wife again, got arrested again, and released again. How long before someone actually DIES as a result of this? And it would be so fucking easy for the city council to get around this...I just...ASDFJKL;
