"What do you tell a guy who is sick, goes into a coma and doesn't have health insurance? Who pays for his coverage? Are you saying society should just let him die?" Wolf Blitzer asked.

"Yeah!" several ( Read more... )

The fuck. Letting someone DIE is better than paying a little extra, or paying for national health care through their taxes. Do these people even LISTEN to themselves?

I keep thinking, if we just got rid of Medicare and Medicaid, and instead had national health care, that would cover most of the bill for NHC anyways. :C There'd be, MAYBE, a 1-2% increase in taxes. I think I can spare a couple bucks just so that I can get birth control, therapy, medication that isn't total shit, etc., etc., etc.

You know, I can remember when saying this would have disqualified the asshole who said it from political office for the rest of eternity. People just would have decided they didn't want slime like this in charge.

Now people CHEER.

I hate what's happening to my country.

Here's hoping those who cheered someday find themselves in need of health insurance only to find out they let their policies lapse or that they were cancelled for some reason.

And these are the same people who, if you want to get an abortion, go foaming at the mouth about how all life is sacred and how dare you. I don't get how they reconcile themselves at all.

"We have given up on this whole concept that we might take care of ourselves, assume responsibility for ourselves ... that's the reason the cost is so high." Then why does health care cost so much less in countries with national coverage?
