The man had crashed his car into the hospital parking lot.  Witnesses flagged down a couple of nearby police officers, one of whom started CPR, while the other ran into the ER, only to be told this:

OMFG, I don't even know what to say. I'd expect the hospital to get sued for that crap though.

Also, I thought ER's took in walk-ins. I know they do that at most of the hospitals at San Diego (I haven't researched all of them since a few our out of our range). You would think they'd take in a walk-in, especially for a car crash victim.

Yeah, every ER around here takes in walk-ins....hell, that's about 90 percent of the people in there.

That is beyond fucked up. When I got into a car accident and rode in an ambulance to the hospital, the ambulance ride alone was about $1400. The man was already in the parking lot, why not just admit him? I have never heard of such a stupid policy. I mean, I don't even think the hospital would get any money from the ambulance fees, anyway, my bill came from the city, so I assume that's where it goes (maybe I'm wrong).

That man could possibly be alive today had the hospital admitted him instead of saying he needed a fucking ambulance to be admitted to the emergency room!

Even if he DID had to follow procedure, someone in the office should have just sent the damn thing out to him. It's not like they didn't KNOW.
