i think i've always had *something* that would suffice, but not nearly what it should have been. about three years ago, i began to do a reassessment of my closet- if i could spend $400 on a corset, surely i could come up with some nifty clothing when i had to go to dinner with the boyfriend's parents or something.
Well, in my case, it comes partially down to I really don't care what others think. I wear what I like, and if they can't deal, they can not look. The exception to this is work, or more specifically going to shows for work. Which I haven't had to do in over three years. Without having gone to shows for a few years, the nicer stuff has just evaporated.
But, I have a New Year's party coming up... so maybe I'll go try to buy something that looks nice for dinner. :) Or rather, something that I like and still looks nicer. I'm certain I can pull it off.
