Summary: Jinki contemplates on how to function as SA(4)-INee
Jinki slumped down on the floor.
The clock ticked quietly, the hour hand pointed at the digit four.
For the first time in a long while, he was alone in the dance studio after a dance practice. Being the leader, he was called for a meeting with the management regarding Jonghyun’s injury and the arrangement of the comeback during the scheduled dance practice. As a result, he had to re-schedule a time slot for the dance practice with the choreographers alone. He had bowed as low as possible in appreciation to the choreographers before they left.
Leaning against the wall with his head tilted to look at the ceiling, Jinki wondered about ways to boost the morale of the members and the fans in the absence of the lead vocalist.
Maybe he will joke about how Jonghyun’s notes are too high, as an indirect explanation for Taemin taking the bulk of Jonghyun’s part. Perhaps that will clear the tension that he knew will occur as some fans protest about the imbalance of parts.
Maybe he will put in more fan service for shawols to perhaps fill their need for JongKey with a little bit of Onkey. Of course, it is definitely not about replacing Jonghyun’s permanent position beside Key, but to help Kibum calm down on stage with his usual method of skinship. Maybe he would also initiate more obvious skinship with Minho (who is the most vocal thus far about the gap JongHyun left), more obvious ones than the usual quiet glances and smiles they exchange. Taemin, his beloved maknae with a permanent seat beside him in radio shows, will of course not be left out in the affectionate exchanges.
Maybe he will do more aegyo, be it subtle or obvious, to charm the ladies during fan meetings and to distract and cheer his members up.
But among all his plans for the upcoming comeback, he had none about Jonghyun.
Jinki sighed deeply.
He had no idea how to reassure that jamong of his importance in SHINee even though the group is doing the comeback without him. He was clueless about how to cheer the lead vocalist if the latter were to struggle with singing as consequence of the accident. He was not even sure that he will be able to spend any time with Jonghyun, since the man will not be staying with them while recovering and his own schedule was packed from morning till late night with frequent travelling out of Korea as well.
---------------------------
A few weeks down the road, Jinki is still quietly worrying; worrying about the probability of Jonghyun pushing himself too hard in order to join SHINee as early as possible. He is worried about the plans for their fifth anniversary, distressing over the five year curse of idol groups.
He was glad that SHINee managed to survive the few overseas performances and Jonghyun did not appear as depressed as he was afraid of. For the past weeks, he had let the other members speak out about missing Jonghyun while he remained poker-faced and quiet about it. He decided that by not speaking up, it is easier to control his emotions and expressions; easier to pretend that he is holding up the group well enough till Jonghyun is back.
After all, it is easier to be in denial that everything is fine...
until his support is back with them.

Hello there~ Thanks for reading! :)
I hope you enjoyed reading this, please do comment (don't worry, I don't bite~ ^^) on how you find this one-shot. :D
All the plans are based on the recent comeback stage interviews, radio and variety shows that SHINee were on. Though personally I feel that the latter part was kind of...awkward/out of place? :(
