Our goal in going to Arat Kilo was to see the national museum. The collection was quite comprehensive, ranging from contemporary Ethiopian art to historical and archeological pieces. The highlight of the visit for us both was the hominid exhibit, culminating with a display of Lucy ( Read more... )

There's a pretty good Ethiopian restaurant up on Capitol Hill, about a block off of Broadway. It was interesting to eat the injera with the different meat/stew mixtures on top (with our hands, no less!). I can only imagine what it would be like to eat it IN Ethiopia.

There's an Ethiopian place in Portland too, and it's really quite authetic. Maybe you get a better selection of foods, that's all :)
