It's probably a bit early to be posting on this, considering that I'm still only midway through the book, but it's pretty exciting, and I can't really resist

... the females always bred with unevolved males, and the males always bred with super-evolved females. When the two populations were reunited, the males were so strong that reproduction killed the females!

woah. if we translated this to a human population, that would make for a pretty freaky horror movie.
