Whoa! My friend Leigh has a really kickass new food and cooking blog, which you should go check out, especially if you're in the Asheville area (Leigh is a compendium of wisdom on good local eatin', although thus far she has neglected my very most favorite Asheville restaurant. You have just given me inspiration. Muah ha ha.

I miss The Dragon as well. I used to go there a LOT with Lisa and Morgan and Philip my first two years of college. Even though there is a plethora of Asian restaurants in Asheville (4 in a 3 block span...really?), none have made me feel at home like The Dragon did.

The Dragon really was a second home--or at least a second dining room--for a lot of us. MIS lunches there during the summer were my favorite (also, my favorite vacation work crew EVER).

I also nominate the cornmeal pancakes at Sunny Point Café to the Edible Things to Try In Portland list.
