Nevada: From Slightly Red to Solidly Blue!!!

In 2000, Bush defeated Gore in Nevada by 21,597 votes (49% to 47%) with 70% voter turnout.

In 2004, Bush defeated Kerry in Nevada by 21,500 votes (50% to 48%) with 78% voter turnout.

In 2008, Obama defeated McCain in Nevada by 120,238 votes (55% to 43%) with 80% voter turnout ( Read more... )

Most excellent. I got one person to vote for Obama and it was an uphill battle getting him to vote at all! I did it via email- my friend is in Fort Wayne, Indiana. But he did vote and he voted for Obama. The effort it took was nothing compared to what you and Cherie expended and I am profoundly grateful that you both worked so hard to make this amazing change possible, not just in Nevada (which is huge!) but in the whole of the United States.

I'm betting most of that anti-McCain momentum came from the extreme foreclosure rate in Nevada, especially Las Vegas and nearby Henderson. We'll see if it sustains.
