Want to draw your attention to this
giant scary article about all the unregulated toxic chemicals to which we're exposed. It'll make you want to throw out half the things in your house, or at least (in my case) stop microwaving my leftovers in tupperware...

this is part of why my spouse had us switch to the fancy local organic milk in glass bottles once I was pregnant. We've thrown out most of the tupperware, drink water out of glass bottles with attached stoppers that we re-use, and bought some pyrex storage-and-microwave dishes. But it's a pain in the nards to think about it all the time.
Baby's also going to have glass baby bottles if I can find some.

I actually read a similar article in Salon.com recently that alerted me to th weird shit that's in beauty products. There wasn't so much hard information on what the stuff that in them does to us, but it made me realize that there is almost no regulation on what goes into them, and so many unknowns. The tort system is what is supposed to protect us, but we all know that even if a direct link is found between a disease and a chemical, it's still almost impossible to isolate any particular injury to use of a product. Better just stick to the natural-est and simplest products you can and not even risk exposing yourself to all that shit.
And, in an extremely related matter, after reading that article I switched from MAC to mineral based make-up (specifically, Dr. Hauschka), and my skin became about 95% clearer WITHIN A WEEK. The site that's mentioned in the Salon article is good. I recommend all you guys check out your top 5 products on it to see what kind of crap is actually contained in there.
