Internet Awkward.

IRL I'm usually not socially awkward. I'm actually quite the opposite. So how can it be that I get super uncomfortable and awkward when interacting with people on the internet?? I'm like the inverse of normally socially awkward people. Is this a good thing? Or incredibly pathetic and sad? Haha, IDK. But I find it really amusing. And annoying. And ( Read more... )

Haha, I'm just the same, why I'm not better at this fandom thing. (well, that and time) I think it's because I can't judge people's reactions the same way, read their faces and tone of voice. Usually I automatically match my personality and intensity to the people I'm with, unconsciously*, but I can't do that the same way online so I feel a bit lost. Think I am one of the few people out there who much prefer phone conversations to texts or mail, for the same reason, especially for official business.

*which is maybe kinda sad, no that I see it typed out? Or just really practical?

I don't think it's sad to try to harmonize with people. But maybe this is because I do the same thing (mostly subconsciously though)?

Maybe you rely a lot on facial expressions and non-verbal comunication and online you never really know what the person is thinking/feeling? : )

Definitely truth in this. Lately I've also noticed I find it difficult to pace myself and not come off too strongly. But I didn't use to be this self-conscious? Was I more internet social earlier or have fandoms changed/are my fandoms different?

I never felt that way with you ♥

I totally suck at getting into fandoms or anything nowadays too x'D Everyone just looks so cool and awesome and everything and I'm just awkward... u_u You're not alone with your problem, if that helps any.

And I think you're cool and stuff. <3

B-but, you're so talented! I feel like I never really have anything to offer the fandom, except my flailing and rambles.

The feeling is definitely mutual, you're awesome ♥

Hey, speaking of fandoms, you in any particular one atm?

My muse for drawing is a terrible mistress... I've been damn lazy with drawing fanart and it'd take a continuous effort to wiggle into a fandom. u.u; That being said, fandoms aren't just for writers or artists! uwu Flailing and rambling are important parts of being a fangirl! o/ United in our spazzing we are~ XD

Oh you~♥

Weeell, I'm not really in any atm but I'm diggin' Deus Ex, X-men and the Avengers verse at the moment. ...What's your current poison?
