it seems like i'm the only one who thinks it would be incredible cool and interesting if those bands do break up. i've never read the magazine so have no idea if any bands i like are in it, or have ever been in it. but beyond any sort of fallacies or misconceptions it would be an incredible social experiment to see what would happen if all the bands broke up and stopped making music. i would really like to see what would happen if they did, there are so many possibilities, way more than there are now.
maybe that was his point? do this in order to open up all the possibilities we have closed ourselves off to musically. perhaps that's a leap of faith, but i've always admired kierkegaard's courage.

A lot of the bands they feature I've only heard once or twice, and I thought they were terrible most often. I definitely dislike Underoath.

I think it would be cool if those bands broke up too, to be honest. It would be an impressive (if completely unrealistic) submission to critical disdain. It seems like the best anyone could hope for is for the bands to at least get bruised egos, and try writing different things as a result of being critically bullied. I like explosions in innovation... though it seems like they happen a lot, but don't enjoy critical (or uncritical) attention all the time.

That leap of faith concept is beautiful, and I rely on it every day when I attempt to do or say anything with any amount of confidence or emphasis. I always thought it was a fine idea, even without the Christian framework.
