Finn loves to explore new spaces, so Eric made him a box with some fun holes in it. He hid under the flaps, but Finn quickly found him via a small window:

Finn is beautiful! I can't believe how big he is getting :D I can only imagine what it feels like to hear him say "mamma"

Currently Owen is going through the phase of being too tired to fall asleep... Todd is taking a turn at the bouncing/soothing. Owen also fights the breast and screams at me, even though he is sooo tired. I have actually learned the cues of when he will start this, though that doesn't mean I am able to stop it yet. The car only works if it is driving, if we stop he wakes up no matter how long of a drive.

You know- Finn did that when he was younger, so maybe Owen WILL sleep without the car soon. I remember spending whole days dedicated to trying to manage Finn's naps when he was younger. It seems like every baby is SO different. Finn goes right to sleep in the evenings, but is such a challenge during the day with sleep. It seems the opposite is true with many babies.

Thanks for indentifying. :) Oh and I did find the "fighting the boob" thing did get better for a while if I would change scenery. Now I just offer and if he fights me then I wait. I try again and if he fights me again then we go for a drive if it's nap time. If it's not naptime then I just wait until he's ready to breastfeed. Seems it's working out for us thus far, but it can be so challenging! How old is Owen now? I wonder if he is starting to teeth... :)

yes, yes!! I feel like some days are only me trying to get Owen to nap, glad to hear it isn't just me being a bad mom :P hehe.

I guess the fighting the boob thing is a little (?) easier when the babe is eating some solids? It is hard when I know he is either hungry or tired, but nursing isn't what he wants...

I was beginning to wonder if he is teething. He is 11 weeks. I have noticed he likes to have his gums rubbed on occasions, he is also getting quite drooly and gnaws on his fists quite a bit. One particularly fussy day I gave him some hylands teething gel, but it seemed to make him even more upset. I wondered if the taste upset him?

The Hylands had dairy, so we didn't use those with Finn because of his sensitivity when he was first born. We did use tylenol. You can shine a flashlight on his gums and see if the are redder/raised in the area where the teeth might be coming in. I had some friends from my birthing class whose babies teethed at 2 months. I find that once Finn is REALLY fighting the boob then I just have to find a way to get him to nap before we can renegotiate the eating situation. :) Sometimes he just pushes the boobs away and I have started to trust him more that he's not hungry or is into what he's doing and will eat later. I think that is easier since he is older and eats solids. At this point, he eats about 4 times a day from the breast and 3 times a day with solids ( ... )
