Nothing is as cute as this. He knows how to get his way, and who can blame him - I think the tops of those things are a little bit warm, too. It has to be wonderful for him. he he

It is warm which is one of the reasons I don't want him on it - it doesn't need any more heat and hair, etc. Though I suppose there is enough hair just in the air that it isn't going to make any difference if he's sitting on it!! :)

It never ceases to amaze me what cats will do to well claim their spot! Mine table/shelf/couch/lap... move over!

They are very, very persistent! Every single spot in the house is 'his' spot. And it's Strider way more than the other two cats which amazes me because they've been here since they were kittens - about 6 years - and he's only been here a year and a half and he's pretty much made it all his territory. :)

I know the phenomenon well! It seems that with cats, if they can physically get into a space that could warm them, they will. We had a similar situation with a DVD player that Sox (our cat) kept insisting on "claiming." We finally put it on a skinny bookshelf (really for CD's or knick-knacks) that was too short for the cat, but he still hunched down on the shelf above and would lay his paws on the DVD player.

Crazy old cats.....

LOL! Cats are very stubborn and he was letting you know that that DVD player was his! :) I don't know what I'd do without my kitties.

I love the look on his face--"What? This is where I am supposed to sit." Cats are highly skilled at finding the warmest spot in the room.

Oh, there is no doubt in Strider's mind that that is HIS spot now. As it the pulled out drawer here next to me so I can pet him frequently and on the spare bed and way up on the shelf in the closet and in the dryer if the door is open and there are clean clothes in it and... you get the idea. :)

Cats sit wherever they darn well please, thankyouverymuch.

Are you in the storm affected area? Are you safe, warm and dry?

Yes, they do!!

I am safe and sound, thank you for asking!! I live about 250 miles east of Seattle on the other side of the Cascade Mtns. Actually, I live in a very arid area full of sagebrush and tumbleweeds! :) That mountain range divides our state into the very wet western side which most people around the country associate with Washington because of Seattle, and a much drier Eastern Washington. Though I live down in SE Washington (close to Oregon & Idaho) and it is the driest part... north of here it is very pleasant. Four distinct seasons, which I think is very nice. But, then I'm from Spokane and so I like it there. :)

I'll bet you really didn't want a geography lesson did you? I just wanted to explain where I lived.

I am glad you did! I only knew the state, not if you were east or west of the mountains, so I'm glad to know that.

What is happening on the coastline sounds awful. Although, I recently watched a report on both a
Cascadia subduction earthquake and the effects of the eruption of Mt Ranier and the subsequent lahars, and they sound infinitely worse. :/ Glad you're not in the way of any of that.
