Still stupid after all these years.

How is it a sane individual will know he's gotta get up early the next day and still stay up too late. Common sense and experience should be a good reminder that the next morning will really really suck if you decide to do something this stupid. I got up at 5:30 again. Yes, 5:30 am. Despite rumors, there is actually a 5:30am. Not that you should ( Read more... )

The angle of C to B = 90 - C to A since plane C intersects between two perpendicular planes. I am assuming that the planes are all oriented end-on in the model I'm using... Or - you have an additional beer. :)

Hi Blyss,
Thanks for your response. Since your the second person that's given me that answer I think I'm presenting the problem poorly.

If A is in the plane of a square tabletop you're looking down on, B is perpendicular to A, and going through the upper left and lower right corners of the tabletop.

Now C, let's say intersects A at a line bisecting the tabletop (it would point north as you look down. Consider that line of intersection an axis of rotation.

As the angle CA approaches 90 degrees, then angle CB is 45 (or 135, depending on which way you view it).

As angle CB approaches 0, then CB approaches 90 degrees.

Hope we have another PSE meeting in March.

A more accurate description of the problem is to determine the angles of each side, for an N-sided pyramid, where all sides are equal. The verticle component of the angle is 180 deg/N. Unfortunately, the angles of each side's plane approaches 180 deg as the base of the pyramid get's wider.
