It's a good thing I live in California; otherwise, I'd be seriously tempted to seek out the president of the swim club and change his complexion ... to black and blue.

Well that's ludicrous and horrible. Is it also illegal? I know country clubs seem to fall under a strange clause with regards to the laws desegregating private businesses. Google is giving me nothing.
If I were to e-mail them right now it would be full of profanity and not terribly productive. Once I get down to a slow boil from full seething rage I will write something for them
Oh my god. I grew up in NE Philadelphia. I grew up going to swim clubs (not that one, fortunately). I won't say that racism doesn't happen there because of course it happens *everywhere*, but I am seriously shocked to see something so blatant. Will post this link on my Facebok page, as that's where I have the most contact with people who are still in Philadelphia.

As a swimming club, they are required to admit all races, as they provide "public accomodation". See the Civil Rights section of that link.
