Makes me think of them opening a door that had been closed between them to close it behind them instead - perfect line.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. It sort of came out of nowhere last night. I kept thinking about the next XF fic I have planned, trying to motivate myself to go write it, and then my mind was like, "Nope, sorry. Let's go write about shit that happened with Bones four years ago."

And yes, I'm quite glad you're writing about Bones and shit that happened between them four years ago. It's a bunch better than what's been happening of late and has made me miss them and the show it used to be so much.

That's a relief, because I have another Bones fic dancing around in my head that's set in my ideal season 7. For me, the show pretty much ended in the spring of 2011, though in many ways, it really started saying its goodbyes the year before. I still love it & miss it for what it used to be though, but yeah, I'm glad that I haven't watched it in quite some time.

TT already picked some of my favorite lines but I have more.
This is such a perfect combination of "old" them and this new thing between them:
For once, she knew he was joking,
but she didn't acknowledge it.
She just kept staring at his mouth.
And the next lines made me LOL :)
"You could come in for a nightcap."
He nodded several times, not unlike a bobble-head, dazed by her proximity.
"Right, just a drink between friends. Coworkers."
They were equally full of shit.
And my absolute favorite:
She let him have the shower first, and he let her pretend she still had everything under control.

Those lines made me laugh writing them, hee. So I'm glad they had the same effect on my readers. I can so picture Booth in that moment, bobbing his head up & down & just agreeing to anything she says.

I've been good. Busy but something I've worked hard on turned out really well so that's something. My muscles are aching from Pilates, quite painful to pick up something I dropped on the floor ;)

Things working out well is always good! Sorry about your muscles though. I just went to physical therapy, myself, and though it didn't completely rid me of the migraine I woke up with this morning, it gave me an overall relaxed feeling that's lasted about 2 & a half hours now. I'm not mad at that!
Good. Hopefully my next ficlet will hit the spot too! I'm about to start working on it.

Dear heart, I enjoyed this so very much that I am typing on a non existent keyboard with my chubby little arthritic fingers (cos my puter went on strike???!!!) and just feeling all loved and comfyfavoredfleece just good in that all's right in the world way. Love hearing the voices of the beloveds. You got a real smooth rhythm going on, that adorable stutter step cadence of Bones' speak and one brilliant Boothy-ness, about breaking his own heart again.
