Oh it's so gorgeous and lyrical and flits and flows brilliantly, touching on all the right elements of their story. I really love that it came out as poetry because it perfectly fits with the story you've told; that feeling like they are both on the precipice of more.

Love every phrase but this grabbed me:

Tonight,
words are necessary,
but their tongues are tied
in knots.

Great flip about of that romantic fiction standard of 'words were not necessary' just adore that.

Really wonderful job, hon. I just love this.

*adds to memories*

Thank you, bb! I'm so glad you liked it. I was worried I'd rushed through the ending, because originally I'd planned for it to be slightly longer. But it sounds like it worked for you, and that's a relief to me because I value your opinion quite a bit.

ETA: Feel free to pimp it elsewhere if you want, because I need all the exposure I can get! Heh. It looks so lonely here with only your one comment.

Oh the ending didn't feel rushed at all, not one bit. I had that happy sigh moment when I finished reading, love it!

Will do! :)

You've made my day (and this was already a good day with someone giving me a buttery, flaky croissant)! You've written ff for one of my old favorite shows! You've been writing!

TT stole all the adjectives I want to use - this is gorgeous, brilliant and wonderful - couldn't agree more with what she said :)

The form you've chosen, poetry, is perfect. The text flows beautifully.

You have such a rare talent for words. You combine the common and expected with the original and make something new. I just love this line:

This is how it always & never is.

Aw, thank you! I'm glad I made your day, and now you've made me want a croissant.

Sorry for being a bad influence ;) No role model when it comes to food today either, have helped some friends move and we had pizza (though some of it had spinach and salmon on it!)

You've made me want to rewatch The X-Files. So many shows, so little time. Have the same problem with books, but I think I have mentioned this luxury problem before.

Just do what I do in that case -- re-watch particular scenes & episodes rather than the whole series. I can recommend stuff for you if you want. Are you in the mood to re-live its shippy moments? Its humor? Its serial killers? Hell, you could just re-watch the scenes from this fic, and that might be enough to fill your craving.

Oh, this is so lovely and lyrical. Heartbreaking and uplifting in turns. It's been so long since I've watched these episodes or been involved with the fandom, but your writing pulls me right back in.

Yay, I'm glad I was able to re-inspire some fannish love of the show for you!
