That place looks lovely, actually. The rooms are very pretty. And cheap! Is it far away from touristy things, or is that just a normal rate?

You can get very cheap rooms in Japan as long as they're Japanese-style hotels (ie, futon on the floor) and you share a bathroom. This one, however, is a little out of the way. I'm thinking of staying at my old standard, the New Koyo, and then switching to this hotel to meet up with friends staying there. The latter is near Ueno Park, Yanaka (an "old town" part of town which is really cool), and other nice walking places.

Oh, that is charming.

I usually travel with soup. But then, I usually travel with a tent and a camp stove.
