I loved Hong Kong. I could have spent a week or more just exploring within a ten block radius of my hotel ( Read more... )

We got to say in French class what we did over break, and I got to say I watched (past tense) House of Flying Daggers with Andy Lau, who is (present tense) tres beau. The teacher pointed out my correct use of a mixed-tense sentence to the class, that watching the movie was an activity completed in the past, and that Andy Lau's beauty is a continuing, ongoing state.

This pleased me on many levels.

I would be happy to house the VCD and would share it with local others.

So true!

OK, send me your mailing address, and let me know if you can get it to play (and if so, how it was.)

I liked Hong Kong, too, although to be fair we spent most of our time in Kowloon. I would like to go back when I have more time, and when it's not August.

I love Hong Kong. It is definitely unique, and yet when I first went there it seemed so familiar--little pieces and parts of London and Charleston and San Francisco, all jumbled together.

I didn't notice the fusion of city with jungle in HK because KL is pretty green as well, so I guess I expected it. I did like the way the mountains were right up next to the city.

Hong Kong reminded me of Singapore -- the weather (I went in summer), the gleaming cleanliness.
