Oh! THAT arm amputation!

For a character who frequently has people try to rape her (twice in this volume alone) it is surprising how little Lucrezia comes across as a helpless victim.

Cesare rising bare-chested up from the lake totally reminded me of the cover of Soul Song (Dirk & Steele, Book 6)

I think Lucrezia is saved from "helpless victim" because, even though she technically is, she always fights back instead of cowering or going "no...you can't...please..."

Bwahahahaha! Isn't it awesome?!

I love Alfonso and Sancia so much! And I especially love that instead of having Sancia and Lucrezia be enemies over Alfonso and Cesare, they instead become friends.

I forgot about Cesare crushing the French king's head!

I am deathly afraid for Alfonso and am paranoidly speculating he will die tragically in either Sancia or Lucrezia's arms, killed by Cesare.

I love Cantarella. But the first few volumes move so fast, and then it kind of slows down. The plot thickens, but it doesn't seem to move. I'm still hooked on the Lucrezia, Chiaro, Cesare triangle, though.
