Colwin, Laurie: A Big Storm Knocked it Over

Laurie Colwin's two books of essays with recipes, Home Cooking and More Home Cooking, are on the small shelf of Rachel's Favorite Food Writing. But great love for an author's nonfiction does not necessarily translate to great love, or even any love, for her fiction, so I was a little dubious about A Big Storm Knocked it Over-- especially since it's ( Read more... )

I have a copy of THE AGE OF GRIEF here in Madrid, that you're welcome to take with you (so you don't have to schlepp so many bookses around with you for the entire trip).

I think I used to have either PASSION AND AFFECT or FAMILY HAPPINESS (or both) in a stack of things I'll never get to atop the kitchen cabinets.

Something by Laurie Colwin, at any rate, from when I used to work at Harper (textbooks) and schlepp home anything from the freebie shelves to swap with friends at other publishing houses.

I can check if I still have them, when I'm back in NYC after BEA, and send them to you if you'd want 'em.
