I did have to laught at 'Lizard Messiah', too.

I'd found 'The Necklace' pretty damn grim, but thought Jacob's 'The Monkey's Paw' was worse. And Andersen's 'The Little Mermaid' depressed me no end when I read it as a kid.

I avoid reading grim stuff. And only write amusing fluff. =)

I see it was a good thing that I gave up on Wolf's Rain after five episodes.

Only "Turn of the Screw," which I thought was a pretty cool psychological horror story buried under ten tons of dependent clauses.
