$10 per book. Merlin's Mistake, The Testing of Tertius, Fox and Phoenix, The Wonderful Flight to Mushroom Planet, Rocket Girls, if you want suggestions from the TBR shelves.

Thanks! They don't have to be from the to-read shelves - that was just in case people were stumped.

I have fond memories of the Newmans and the Mushroom Planet. James Nicoll was enthusiastic about Rocket Girls, and Fox and Phoenix is on my to-read list.

PS. What were you bidding for in the Terri Windling auction?

If only I had known you were going to do another read-a-thon last week, when I was in a bookstore that had another five or so John Boyd novels on the shelf...

Actually, I suppose nominating the other Boyd you already have would be cruel, so I will instead nominate The Shadow Speaker.

I'll pledge $20/book as long as you can wait until a bit after January 18th for the money.

Eeek!

And also, thank you! No rush on the money - I can't even schedule the read-a-thon dates until next week anyway.

They had a lot of Lin Carter, too. It was impressive.

The Shadow Speaker. Thanks, both for the nomination and the book itself. Despite some caveats about the climax, I overall enjoyed this a lot.

Do you still have Dexta, or did you sell that off?

Dexta proved to be physically impossible to read. Three tries failed to get me past page three.

This I have to see.

One quick visit to Amazon later.

Well, that was certainly something. If it's any comfort, it appears that all of those characters die on page 9.

$10 a book, up to 20 books, and I am going to think about book suggestions.

You're welcome. What I really want is to hear about the course in exhaustive detail :)

I'll have to check on confidentiality requirements, but I'm sure that I'll be able to discuss some of it, at least.
