I do not like it when my teenage son feels he has to ask his step dad (because of previous negative reactions) if he can take a particular (healthy) food item for his school lunch. I like it even less when there's a noticeable pause before Matt gives his answer (correct answer = automatic fucking yes. Christ

That's good as far as it goes, but my issue isn't with Aaron taking something--it's with Matt jumping all over him for doing so. I am not going to tell Aaron to make free with [food item] if his doing so will cause the other parent in the house to get all over his case. And I'm still working on achieving alignment with Matt on our approach.
