As I chewed my sandwich (back in bed) I read the first few pages of Wuthering Heights. I had meant to start it months before, but hadn’t found the time. I was bored of it by the time I had finished the sandwich; the blurb had lied to me, I could see no trace of a free spirited Cathy or a brooding, conflicted Heathcliff. I've just listened, it's okay but I prefer Kate's version and the one posted above, it's not that Pat's version is bad, it's just that it lacks the things I like about the other versions: Kate's original sounds like it comes from the fourth dimension and the one I posted above delightfully quirky.

Yup, gotta admit, Kate's version has a very country, twangy sound to it. What can I say, I'm a child of the late 60's and grew up in the 80's. Pat Benetar put this out in the early to mid-80's.

I still have fond memories of this song.
