Hee, I was just about to put this up! Thanks for this. Formatting looks weird... o_O Can you put the "Series Rewatch" title section in the subject line, thanks!
Episode 11: The Great Divide - I actually liked this episode. It never fails to make me laugh, and I loved that it broke the sexist stereotype that only men could be grungy and only women could be primped. "I only went along with them because they fed me." CLASSIC.
Episode 12: The Storm - This is one of my favourite episodes. It allows us to see into the past of the two main protagonists, giving us a history and filling in some of the holes that were empty before. I also loved how it gave Zuko a kind of human light, allowing us to see that there is more to him than just being the Gargamel of the series.
Episode 13: The Blue Spirit - Ugh, such a good episode. Sokka tripping on his flu, Momo being a hoarder, Aang being the one to save the day - and almost failing, and obviously the best part: finding out that Zuko is a serious badass hiding in exiled clothing. We also get the Yu Yan archers, probably one of the most interesting one-shot groups of Fire Nationals in the entire show. I really wish they had expanded on them more, but

Ever heard of these? Yeah. "Novelized" versions of some of the episodes were included in them, spread out amongst Tasty Cultural Tidbits and Worldbuilding. *cough* I, uh, scanned my copies, if you're interested.
They did go on to "novelize" the second season at least, but I didn't end up picking up those books, because a quick skim didn't show me any new Worldbuilding stuff. Still, they may have had more original art (like what's in this icon), so maybe I'll take another look if I see them again.
...Come to think of it, a lot of the cultural stuff in these could probably be used for our arguments. I mean, the Water scroll has a tent layout, for crying out loud!
Does it live up to its meme of worst episode ever? I argue no!
1) It teaches us the value of lying for diplomacy :Dbb 2) In an awesome subversion of stereotypes, the leader of the clean tribe is a guy, and the leader of the messy tribe is a gal! It's like people aren't defined by their gender! GASP. 2a) Speaking of female leaders, this is one of the only, if not the only, female leaders I can remember being in the series at all. 3) Stupid people postulate that the canyon was created by the flow of water, wind, and possibly glaciers over hundreds of years, but SCIENCE tells us it was actually the work of spirits! (I do love the flip there, even if it does make me cry a little inside for Kansas, etc.)
While it was definitely not the best episode ever (I think it can actually qualify as "filler"), it's also not my least favorite. Personally, I was less comfortable with Imprisoned, if only because it hit my embarrassment squick hardSpeaking of not being defined by biology, the twins in The Fortuneteller totally give it a boost in

Haha, me too :D. Though I didn't actually get around to watching the rest of the series until after I got onto racebending, but it was always on my to-watch list after I watched this one.
