Stolen Identity

So yesterday I get a call from my credit card company asking about some potentially fraudulent charges posted that day. Apparently I flew to New York, spent $435 at Orva, a store that "specializes in female adornment, head to toe," then spent $41 at Shop Fair, a low-rated shoe store in Harlem, and then $94 at American Apparel ( Read more... )

That's so crazy! Do you buy a lot of stuff online? That's why I check my bank account online every day. I'm paranoid about it even before my purse got stolen. But the people who stole my card only spent $273 and at the grocery store, gas station, and Walmart.

Not really - I'll occasional get something online, but not often. I check my statement each month when it comes out, but I'm glad to know the company is monitoring stuff as well.

Yeah, my company didn't flag mine, because the people who took it were smart about it. They never spent more than $75 at the same place and they didn't go anywhere that I wouldn't. I'm so glad that your company is looking out for you, but flying to NY and dropping almost $500 at one store there is like yelling out to the world "I STOLE SOMEONE'S CREDIT CARD NUMBER!"
