Odd question

Does anyone have any notion of where I might look for the proportion of native English speakers who also speak a foreign language? I figure this is fairly low, but some actual data would be helpful. Google has turned up fuck all, so now I'm on to JSTOR and some other scholarly databases.

I'll post if I find out the answer to my question.

Hmmmm, I might check with a linguistics or language-teaching association. Or maybe even a sociology-type department? Or, maybe a college/high-school foreign language teacher/department? But no, I don't know the answer. Oh, or your handy reference librarian, i.e., hhw (or some other librarian at your university's library)!
