you get 15 icons and a few other random perks if you upgrade your account to a sponsored plus account...theoretically, these perks are brought to me by my banner adds, but I personally do not see any of them (though anyone who views my journals without a banner blocker will)

I like that situation best. Anybody who is browsing without AdBlocker Plus/other adblocker deserves to be advertised to anyway, and all to your gain.

haha, yeah, that was my thinking, too. ads are ugly...but I don't have to look at them, so whateva. and by "don't have to", I mean "obsessively add-block anything with the slightest semblance to an add"....
