So I was just checking a couple things on my computer before looking over today's genetics lecture, and then I couldn't *not* read this. :-)

Yet another wonderful RC story, and an amazing fill for the prompt! The last part, where Peter and Neal finally talk, had me tearing up. Oh, and, "It always seemed to work on Magnum P.I." Brilliant.

ETA: Also, bonus points for use of part of one of my all time favorite song lyrics - I love a clever turn of phrase.

Hee - that Magnum reference was almost a "Mannix" reference, but that's even too much before MY time!

Love the Police - and I thought the song was apropos, given the subject matter.

As I'm sure I've said before, it's a good thing my office door is shut, because I wouldn't want my co-workers to see me crying.

Beautiful, especially the end - their reconciliation feels so real, so authentic. Brava!!!!!!!

Aww...but that's my measuring stick of quality. If I make myself cry, then it's a good thing!

That was wonderful. All the emotional complexity, the trust, distrust issues make this a great exploration of where the series has been going.

I'm glad you think so. I sure hope they figure out how to fix this soon...cuz how do they NOT end up like this?

I really love this. Peter's response to the whole thing--going to help Neal immediately despite his distrust and then the worry over what had really happened--was wonderful.

I'm glad you liked it. I think Peter almost lost Neal without noticing. *pets*

I haven't been reading a ton of a fic lately, but this one jumped out as "Hey! Read Me!" and I'm glad it did. It was so good, especially the scene when the doctor is talking to Peter and Peter realizes exactly how estranged he and Neal had become. He seemed so startled by it.

But I'm not going to lie, I kind of imagined Neal doing a pee-dance in his bed through the whole heart-to-heart and Peter being so involved in apologizing that he doesn't notice. Neal having to pee didn't come up again, so I sort of expected the end to be more like, "Peter, I'm glad we're friends again, so can you hand me that bedpan, buddy?"

Thanks! It felt realistic to me - how they lost track of each other. Sometimes it's so easy to stay mad or ambivalent, and I think Peter fell into that trap.
