However... if I may say so, I think you should fix this: Peter and he had booth been undercover for their latest case.

ETA: And Neal learned how to shoot SOMEwhere, right? Thought I'd make it up...

Beyond the immediate tragedy and horror of course, Neal didn’t actually know what he would do without Peter in his life - what he could do. It had been a long time since he stopped thinking of Peter as his “handler,” and regarded him more as a brother, counselor and friend - a true partner in every sense of the word. Someone that he’d risk his life for - and who’d do the same for him - despite their differences.
How ironic that he, of all people, who had to this point made so much of his life about never putting down roots, should feel this tied to someone he ought to be keeping at arm’s length. If Moz had even an inkling that these were his feelings, he’d probably enroll him in a cult deprogramming facility.
Hugs you for this - just what I wanted and needed today.

Somehow I can so perfectly see
this being the first thing out of Peter's mouth in this situation.
Great story. I love that Peter is warmly surly even when he's the injured party. :D

Neal is tortured by some Bad Guy, and part of it was submerging him in ice water. Peter has to warm him with his naked hot body!!!!!!!!!
